Introduction

Hello,I'm Doug and I just discovered this forum and its wealth of info. I've been active in the EV car world for 4 years now, and have continually watched the marine industry make its inroads with electric propulsion over the past several years. I think I'm ready to make the commitment to electric for my Nonsuch 30 "Such is Life"  currently moored in Anacortes, Wa... but soon to relocate in Everett Wa.Having her closer to home will allow this type of major retrofit to happen. The goal is to…See More

Newish Solidnav user seeking a bit of solar help

Our Cal 2-27 came equipped with a Solidnav drive from the previous owner. Over the few months we have owned the boat I've come to really love the drive. Where I'm running into an issue is with figuring out a solar set up. I may own an all electric boat, but I am far from electric savvy.Yesterday I spoke with BlueSky about an MPPT and it wasn't a productive discussion. Our battery bank is built around four AGM batts. While I understand the drive requires 48v, what decisions does this force as…See More

I am looking at replacing the current batteries with 4 Northstar SMS AGM 220 or 4 Northstar SMS AGM 400  (220 Ah or 400 Ah…See More
