2 AWG Battery Cable Run near battery concerns

As I'm about to replace my 48 volt battery bank. I'm also going to re position the new batteries for easier access to the terminals. But, I may have to run the 2 AWG battery cables on the top or close to one or two of the batteries. Is there any worry about damaging the batteries internally by running  these cables near them from the magnetic field generated under high amp loads over time?Mikehttp://biankablog.blogspot.comSee More

Lithium battery pack needed

Update on Lilliput.Last year was a long struggle to get out the old engine and all it's associated pieces. The steel frame bolted to molded in stringers was the worst! Had to cut it out with tiny grinder wheels. It was glassed in to the compartment wall at the rear end with only an inch to spare between the sides of the hull and the steel. It's done!!! I've installed Joe Steinberger's electric motor setup and am looking to buy…See More

AGM Battery Anomaly

Just when I thought I was ready to splash my boat for the season I made a disturbing discovery concerning one of the batteries in the 48 volt propulsion bank. The Dual Pro PS4 battery charger showed battery number four with a blinking green light where as all the others were steady after having been charged.  This was a new development as for the past several weeks all the batteries had been charging normally on my visits. For some reason the charger thinks…See More

Another newby with a Dream

Hey guys! Looking for comments, ideas, examples, intellectual smackdowns (i.e. "What the hell were you thinking?), etc.I came over here from CF because I got tired of the narrow-minded "can't do" attitudes over there. Even when you give them examples and videos, they still refuse to admit that it CAN be done. Well, I'm 20 years retired military, so I have a WILL do attitude and I am the epitome of hard headed. I usually get it done. I'm currently tossing around the idea of an…See More
