Significant voltage drop

Hi everyone,I have an electric yacht motor, driven by 8 Trojan T105 batteries, wired in series to produce 48Vdc. I have owned the system and the batteries for  7 years. I have noticed this year that I am getting really significant voltage drops while underway.I can see the motor controller display going from 48 down to 24 Vdc, all within an hour, under what I consider to be normal cruising conditions and amp draw.I guess there may be two problems.1) A resistance problem- maybe thermally induced…See More

ASMO Controller--Data Logging?

I have an ASMO Thoosa 9000 system in my Ericson 30+  Does someone have a guide to pulling data out of the system?  I have heard that the controller keeps some event data.  I notice when I open the controller black box, that the big green brick inside has an RS 232 port. Is that just for programming, or can one also pull data out of it?  I've like to be able to keep a log of what's happening with the motor and battery system.  Thanks. --Ernie GalvanZenergy, Ericson 30+See More

From The Beginning

Hi, I am a new member.  I sail a 1980 Ericson 25+.  LOA 25.5; displacement 5000 lb., fractional rig, sloop.  Until a couple of years ago, my aux. power was small, stock Volvo/Penta, with a saildrive.  When my motor seized, I got an outboard 9.9 and hung it off the back, which is not pretty, and interferes with swim ladder; must be removed when on mooring for a variety of reasons; and prop exposed in Buzzards Bay seas sometimes.  I sail out of New Bedford.  I am planning on taking the…See More
