The wood paneling needs some  serious work!! Fortunately the teak  veneer is  of good  quality and refinishes easily

Awsome weekend

Got out for 3 days done about 30 miles under power @ 35amps 4 kts average Got in some good sail time sill working on the regen I am only getting about 2 amps @ 5.5-6 kts got to work on this still its better than nothing. Got to run the EU2000 (about 2 or 3 hours total) to run the chargers and fix dinners as all my cooking is electric also cooking with the inverter eats a lot of power and I am pretty sure I would have to cover at least 2 boats with panels to keep up works pretty good for coffee…See More

Do you know anything about St. Pierre Dories?

I have just gotten a 22' St. Pierre Dory, it has not sails or rudder, but it does have masts. It is a doug-fir ply dory and the late John Gardner consulted during construction. I can handle the basic plywood repairs and scraping old paint etc.  I have no knowledge or experience designing a rudder or sail plan. I have a home built trimaran 28' that I am thinking of scraping since it has electronic propulsion and large sails. If you become my sailing friend and help, will keep fed, will pay for…See More

I rented one last week and made sure that it would meet my needs and was pleased to find out that it ran every thing in eco mode ( charge-toaster oven and even the water heater one @ a time of course ) I ordered the companion so I will be able to use the 30A shore power cord so I will be able…See More

Major test run

Took her out for her first serious test run on the 23rd January. Everything performed very well. Ran the electric motor for over an hour at 4 knots. The batteries still had plenty of charge left in them. My prediction of motoring for 3 hours at 4.5 to 5 knots is looking good. The outbound trip was against the tide and the yacht has not been anti fouled in 2 years. In the tropics the growth underneath is very fast. Once she is antifouled I will get another 1.5 knots.Charged the battery bank via…See More
