Does anyone know of small efficiently Regenerative motors suitable preferably to 1/2 + scale models(30-70' boats)? 24-48" is most practical, I am willing to build up to about 12' LOA if necessary to proof designs. PWM, magnet rotor, maybe a brushless.

Our guy in Fl. sent this link about small motors. I haven't looked that closely at it yet, but they are pretty compact and may work - not sure though. Check it out.

For model to bother with an efficient regenerative (generates power back to batteries effectively ) drive it would have likely to have sails for which to overdrive that prop. Realizing somebody may well have found something I haven't yet, I ask. So far best options have been 'hub motors' for some bicycles as they have been making more of them by leaps than for boats in recent years. Though most to scale power to model size force me over 4' easily. Cost of models like real boats just goes up with size.
